Thank you for visiting with the Canned Food Alliance (CFA) at the Today's Dietitian Spring Symposium. We hope you enjoyed the delicious cakes, which featured surprise canned ingredients each day. By replacing the oil in a simple boxed cake with a canned fruit or vegetable, we can add a serving of fruit or vegetable and reduce the fat and calories. Here are the recipes, as we promised!

Red Satin Cake with
Peaches & Raspberries
Carrot Spice Cake
with Apricot Curd

A special thank you to the famous Gambino's Bakery for baking our recipes to share with you! Please visit our website, Mealtime.org for more tasty and nutritious recipes!

CFA Launches New Menu Modeling Research & Resources!

You CAN Shift It! Menu Modeling Tool Kit

In an effort to help you communicate the many benefits of canned fruits, vegetables, beans, lean meats and seafood, we conducted new menu modeling analysis that shows how small shifts in the diet, including the addition of a few canned ingredients can help consumers increase their intake of key nutrients and meet the new Dietary Guidelines.

We created three full-day menus—one for each meal pattern outlined in the Dietary Guidelines: the Healthy U.S. Diet, the Mediterranean Diet and the Vegetarian Diet. These menus offer recommendations for breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner and include nutritious and convenient canned food to help close nutrient gaps.
